This extensive collection of gold, mostly branch mint coins, bears the name of the river made famous in Stephen Foster's song, "Old Folks at Home". The Suwannee River is a blackwater river that runs through southern Georgia into norther Florida, eventually dumping into the Gulf of Mexico. Meandering though the swamps, the Suwannee is as mysterious and inspirational as the coins contained in this collection. A few pieces first surfaced in 2008 but the majority of the collection was retained by the seller until recently when we were contacted to purchase the hoard. Ecletic in its contents, the Suwannee River Collection has many date and mint varieties seldom seen by the average collector. All are reasonably priced and will be a delight to the branch mint enthusiast!
